Where the money goes

Two ways out, both of them local.

Every tag sends a donation. What is printed on the front decides which way it goes, and there is no third option.

ONE TAG SELLS A donation goes out IF A SCHOOL IS ON IT That school gets the donation. The one printed on the front. Not a pool, not a fund we divide up later. EVERY OTHER TAG A local nonprofit gets the donation. Medical, allergy, if found, pet, memory care, autism, nonspeaking, veterans.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Does it work with iPhone and Android?

Yes. Recent iPhones read NFC tags from the lock screen with nothing to set up: hold the top edge of the phone to the tag. Most Android phones read them too. NFC has to be switched on in Settings, and the reading spot is the middle of the back of the phone.

When the phone reads the tag, a notification pops up. Tap it to open what is on the tag.

Do I need an app?

Not to read it. Nobody who taps your tag has to install anything.

To change what is on your tag, you use the free NFC Tools app from the App Store or Google Play. It takes about a minute, and the instruction card in the package shows how.

Is there a subscription?

No. You pay for the tag once. There is no account to make, nothing to renew and nothing to cancel. It is a tag, not a service.

How private is it?

There is no online profile and no database behind the tag. What you put on it, such as a text to your emergency contact, a phone number or a link, lives on the chip itself.

Anyone who taps it can read it, the same as a printed ID card, so put on only what you want a helper to see. You can rewrite it any time. A copy of what you asked for stays only with your order record; the privacy policy has the details.

Is it a GPS tracker?

No. There is no GPS, no battery and nothing to charge. It does nothing until someone holds a phone to it.

Does it call 911 or send help?

No. No tag calls anyone by itself. It shows the finder what you chose and, on most tags, a text to your contact that they can send. In an emergency, call 911 first.

Can I change what is on it?

Yes. Every tag ships unlocked, so you can rewrite it whenever you like. The one exception is the 988 tag, which ships already written to the national crisis resources and is the same on every tag.

Where do you ship?

Ready-made tags ship anywhere in the US from $5, or you can pick up locally in Ottawa County and the Muskegon area. Custom school and team tags are made to order for schools in Ottawa County and the Muskegon area only.
